Bureaucracy 'divided' over arrest of ex-DG LDA Ahad Cheema: sources

Bureaucracy of Punjab has expressed its concern over arrest of former Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Cheema, reported Waqt News.

According to media reports, Chief Secretary has called an emergency meeting. All top civil services officers attended the meeting at Civil Secretariat today.

During the meeting, officers expressed their concerns as well as surprise that despite cooperation by the bureaucracy, Cheema was arrested by NAB.

Bureaucracy has always worked for Pakistan and always worked under difficult circumstances, officers said during the meeting.

The civil services officers also said that professional officers have always worked for people and country. The bureaucracy has appealed concerned authorities to take notice of this act by NAB.

PCS officers, however, showed hesitance in supporting Ahad Cheema stating that in 2011 while working as DCO , Cheema ordered arrest of almost 70 PCS officers.
