South Africa rout India to level T20 series

Centurion - South Africa might have a history of faltering while chasing in crucial games, but much to the surprise of many, the Proteas stunned the Men in Blue to win the 2nd T20 international at Centurion on Wednesday.

Heinrich Klaasen, who has been one of the most impressive batsmen for South Africa ever since he was brought in the squad, played a sensational 30-ball 69 and was well supported by JP Duminy (64*), who played a captain's knock. After losing JJ Smuts (2) and Reeza Hendricks (26) with 38 runs on board, Klaasen and Duminy launched a brilliant counter-attack to add 93 runs for third wicket which proved to be decisive.

South Africa successfully chase down a 189-run target thanks to two brilliant knocks from Klaasen and JP Duminy. Klaasen, who was the hero of South Africa's win against India in 3rd ODI, played some breathtaking shots during his knock. Targeting the leg side, the wicketkeeper batsman hammered three fours and seven sixes. His innings finally came to an end when he was dismissed by Jaydev Unadkat in the 14th over of the innings. It was a huge wicket considering Klaasen was single-handedly taking the match away from India. Despite Klaasen's departure, Duminy ensured that there was no collapse as he remained unbeaten towards the end and slammed two consecutive sixes to guide his side home.

Earlier batting first, Virat Kohli's men got off to a poor start as with just 45 runs on board. It was then that Manish Pandey came to the crease. After a slow start to his knock, Manish proved yet again why he deserves to feature regularly in the coloured jersey.

Pandey and Dhoni added unbeaten 98-run stand for fourth wicket to take the hosts to a respectable total.
