RAWALPINDI – Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Shahid Raffique on Saturday postponed the hearing till Monday (tomorrow) of a plea seeking to declare former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf as a proclaimed offender and freezing his bank accounts for his involvement in Benazir Bhutto’s murder, owing to absence of the defence counsel.

The court also recorded the statements of two witnesses including area magistrate Chaudhry Taufeeq in BB murder case. Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday submitted before the court of special judge, central, the supplementary investigation report against former federal minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi and former director general (DG) Haj Rao Shakeel in Haj scam case. However, the defence counsel opposed the FIA move and pleaded the court to hand over the challan copies to the accused before framing charges against them in Haj corruption case.

SJC Mian Khalid Shabbir, after conclusion of defence counsel’s arguments, directed the FIA to provide the accused with the challan copies and put off the hearing till February 14 in Haj scam. During the trial, FIA produced before the SJC Mian Khalid Shabbir the interim challan against Hamid Saeed Kazmi and Rao Shakeel in Haj scam.

Meanwhile, former DG Haj Rao Shakeel has filed a petition in the court to defreeze its pay account that was frozen by FIA after taking him into custody on account of his involvement in Haj corruption case. The court issued notice to FIA and sought record of the case on the next date of hearing.
