KARACHI - The dollar weakened against the rupee in the interbank market during the outgoing week, dealers said on Saturday. It commenced the week’s trading at Rs 90.27 for buying, fell 14 paisas and closed at Rs 90.13 for buying and Rs 90.18 for selling. The European currency increased against the rupee as it began the week’s trading at Rs 115.82 for buying, went 46 paisas up and closed at Rs 116.28 for buying and Rs 116.48 for selling. The British pound witnessed growth against local currency as it initiated the week’s trading at Rs 138.51 for buying, gained 79 paisas and closed at Rs 139.3 for buying and Rs 139.5 for selling.

In the open market, the dollar witnessed loss against the rupee, dealers said. It started the week’s trading at Rs 91.20 for buying, lost 95 paisas and closed at Rs 90.25 for buying and Rs 90.75 for selling. The Euro recorded gain against the rupee as it began the week’s trading at Rs 115.50 for buying, moved 90 paisas up and closed at Rs 116.40 for buying and Rs 118.20 for selling.

The British currency increased against the rupee as it initiated the week’s trading at Rs 139.50 for buying, gained 30 paisas and closed at Rs 139.80 for buying and Rs 141.5 for selling.
