KARACHI – Like other parts of the country, the 68 days of the mourning period related to the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companion was ended in the metropolis on Monday (8th Rabiul Awwal) by commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hassan al-Askari (RA).In this regard, two central processions were taken out in the city, the first was Chup Tazia was taken out after the Fajr prayer from Nishtar Park in Soldier Bazaar, and culminated at Imambargah Hussainia Irania in Kharadar after the Zohrain prayers. The second procession was taken out from Qasr-e-Musayyab in Rizvia Society and culminated at Masjid-o-Imambargah Shah-e-Najaf on Martin Road in after Namaz-e-Maghribain, following its traditional route.These processions are generally regarded as the last processions of the mourning period that begins in the Islamic month of Muharramul Haram. The Rizvi Society procession is attended by thousands of mourners. The said central jaloos was taken out from Qasr-e-Mosaayyab, Old Rizvia. It passed through traditional routes and ended at Imambargah Shah-e-Najaf Marton Road. Ulema-e-Karam, Noha Khwan, Maatami Anjumans, members of various Shia organisations & Institutions participated in the jaloos alongside momineen o mominaat. During the procession a large number of the replica of Alam, Tazia, Zuljinah, Amari, and coffins were also available to remember the great sacred historic incident.The law-enforcement agencies have taken strict security measures to prevent the precious lives of citizens from any terrorists attack. It is pertinent to mention here that over the recent past the country has witnessed continuous incidents of terrorism in Azadari gatherings.
