HAFIZABAD - Sunni Tehreek Chief Sarwat Ijaz Qadri has called upon the party activists to forge greater unity to fight terrorism and introduce Islamic system in the country letter spirit.

In his telephonic address to Milad rally taken out by the ST activists at Fawara Chowk here on Monday, he said that since 2006, 63 activists of Sunni Tehreek had been killed in Karachi but no one could be arrested for the target killing so far. He demanded immediate arrest of the accused involved in the target killing of the ST workers and activists.

Earlier, hundreds of activists of ST led by Pirzada Syed Usman Naqvi, Maulana Badaruz Zaman Tarar, Maulana Ajmal Chishti, Qari Naveed and Qari Shahzad Nizami took out a rally. They were holding green flags and reciting Kalama Tayyaba. They marched on main roads and converged at Fawara Chowk.

CM okays Rs10m for graveyards uplift: The Punjab Chief Minister has approved a sum of Rs10.8 million for the improvement of different graveyards in the district.

According to official source, the CM has directed the DCO to complete survey of graveyards at Tehsil level and ensure implementation of this project within shortest time possible. The DCO has also been directed to get construction of boundary walls around the graveyards, remove encroachments, if any. The CM has further directed the DCO to ensure cemented floors, sheds for ‘Janazgah’, provide drainage and proper arrangements for lighting and water for ablution.

The CM has desired that work on the project should be started before January 31.

The CM has approved similar grants for improvement of graveyards in other districts in the Punjab.
