OKARA - Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Samsam Ali Bukhari has said that the government believes in fair and transparent elections and no compromise will be made on this count.

He said this while talking to local journalists here in Karmanwala Sharif before leaving for Islamabad.

He noted ahirul Qadri agenda was in the national interest and no one had any objection over it. Long march declaration will be implemented in letter and spirit. Era of conspiracies is over now and democracy is key to all problems, he added. He went on to say that besides external conspiracies, an internal hand is also behind the worsening situation in Balochistan and Karachi. Government is keeping an eye over them, he held. He stated that concrete steps were being taken to improve situation in Karachi.

The work on creation of new province in Punjab is under active review and significant headway has been made in this respect, he said, adding that people of Southern Punjab would get good news in this regard soon. The PPP is committed to carve out provinces on administrative basis, he added. “We will remove all the ambiguities on this matter and take on board all political parties”, he remarked.
