Pakistan Davis Cup team camp resumes





ISLAMABAD –Pakistan tennis team training camp for the upcoming Davis Cup tie against Sri Lanka resumed here at the Senator Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex on Monday.
Earlier, the camp began on January 10 in the first phase as Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) organised the First Masters Cup from January 16-20 and now the second phase of the camp has resumed.
Aisamul Haq Qureshi, Aqeel Khan, Yasir Khan and M Abid will represent Pakistan in the Davis Cup tie against Sri Lanka starting from February 1 to 3 in Colombo. Asiam and Aqeel were given exemption from the trial matches while Yasir and M Abid booked their tickets through qualifiers. Asiam will join the team in Sri Lanka as he was busy in playing the doubles event at Australian Open.
Khalid Mehmood, who has a long history of working with different countries, is supervising the camp which will continue till January 25. The team will leave for Sri Lanka on January 27 from Karachi.
