LAHORE - The Government College University (GCU) Monday organised Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) conference in connection with the Eid Miladun Nabi.
Government College University Vice Chancellor Dr Khaleequr Rahman chaired the conference while Choora Sharif Sijadha Nashin Pir Syed Kabir Ali Shah was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Kabir Ali Shah announced Ashab-e-Suffa Award for Dr Khaleequr Rahman for his services for Islam and education.
Syed Kabir Ali Shah also threw light on the life of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and delivered their views on the importance of this month in Islam.
Addressing the audience, the Vice Chancellor called Muhammad (PBUH) as a role model for the Muslims, adding that it was only by following teachings and belief by the Prophet (PBUH) that one can become a true human being and would bring reforms in the society by eradicating social ills and immoral activities.
University of Faisalabad Department of Islamic Studies Chairperson Dr Syed Abdul Rehman Bukhari also addressed the conference.
