The revival of National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) is a welcome move. The country has needed a counter-terrorism think tank, as well as a body that could coordinator among the myriad intelligence agencies that exist at the national and provincial levels. NACTA should be given the necessary authority to be able to play its part. This authority should have some sane and wise people who have knowledge of security. It should be able to develop an institutional role to ensure that intelligence agencies cooperate with it and allow them to become a bridge between the military and civilian run intelligence arms of the state. For once personal issues should be put aside and the government should have a solid plan that will make all the counter-terrorism machinery comes together as a cohesive whole.
