Five negligent SDOs, two others face the music


FAISALABAD-The Fesco has suspended five Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), one Revenue Officer and one Commercial Assistant as power pilferage detected in a Textile Mill on Jhang Road has been established.
According to detail, electricity was being stolen in Younis Industries under the head of MDI for the past sometime. On a tip-off, Fesco Chief Executive Officer Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan constituted a high level committee to investigate in this issue. After investigating the power pilferage was proved hence the SDOs - Sajjad Haider Aawan, Zibdatul Zia, Shahzad Mehmood, Sheikh Awais Rashid, Revenue Officer Abdul Hafeez Nadeem and Commercial Assistant Muhammad Ashraf were immediately suspended on charges of negligence and poor performance.
The electricity meter of the factory has been removed and a fine of Rs3.5 million has been imposed on the factory owner.
 The Fesco CEO has reiterated that campaign against power pilferers will continue till the total elimination of the menace.
He said that the power pilferers and corrupt Fesco officials would be taken to task. Anybody who may be influential would not be spared. He said that the Fesco teams constituted on the special directive of the Federal government and the Punjab Chief Minister are working round the clock to nab power pilferers.
