ISLAMABAD - In the wake of heavy rains that have caused floods in the country, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to complete all necessary arrangements to cope with the situation arising out of the flash floods.

He asked the KP government to prepare a strategy to cope with the floods in Chitral and other parts of the province. He said that there should be precautionary measures to make the big cities safe from deluge and steps should be taken for in time delivery of relief items in the flood affected areas.

He regretted that the federal government uses to leave thousands of innocent citizens at the mercy of floods every year by not constructing dams. “The poor masses are facing the brunt of negligence of PPP and PML-N governments in the form of flood and loadshedding.

He said that Sindh and Punjab governments should also prepare themselves to face the situation after floods.
