More than two hundred persons attacked a raiding team of the Dera Nawab Sahib Police headed by SHO Nasr Ghauri which had gone to Basti Buccha of Mauza Mehrabwala for a search operation against proclaimed offenders, criminals and drug pushers.
According to details, the attackers, armed with weapons and clubs assaulted the raiding party and resisted arrest of their wanted accomplices.
On receiving the information, ASP Mahrozli Ghauri visited the scene and inquired into the matter. The police have registered a case against 240 persons including 40 nominated and arrested three dozen persons till the filing of this report. Further investigation is in progress.
TRAIN HITS CAR: Three passengers sustained critical injuries when their car came in front of 38-down Fareed Express train while the car was destroyed here at Mujahid Colony Tuesday afternoon. Reportedly, Muhammad Yousaf, a resident of Chak 126/9L along with Muhammad Sajjad and Rao Muhammad Kaleem were going to meet his relatives at Mujahid Colony.
When they were crossing an open railway-crossing, their car (KZ-379) came in front of Karachi-bound 38-down Fareed Express train coming from Lahore. As a result three passengers got injured who were shifted to THQ Hospital Burewala where their conditions is said to be stable. The car, however, was total destroyed. Later after 35 minutes delay, Fareed Express Train left for Karachi.
