Local labourer Muhammad Jamil’s two minor daughters were killed when roof of his house collapsed during heavy rain in village Jaamkey-Qila Kalarwala, Pasrur tehsil here on Tuesday.

Reportedly, both the minor girls - six-year-old Saira and four-year-old Saadia were asleep in a room, when its roof suddenly caved in during heavy rain, killing both of them on the spot. Locals and rescuers of Rescue 1122 pulled out the dead bodies from under the debris.

Meanwhile, 10-year-old Arsalan Ahmed sustained injuries when a wall of his house collapsed over him during rain in village Achraan-Head Marala. He was admitted to hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, four-year-old Urooj who had sustained severe electric shocks, breathed her last in Mayo Hospital Lahore after fighting for life while the left foot of her elder sister six-year-old Amina was severed by doctors due to a serious infection.

Both sisters - Urooj and Amina were passing through a local street in Sambrial city’s congested Sultanpura locality when main 11KV electrical wire fell over them one month ago. Both the girls received severe electrical shocks and burns. Both were shifted to Mayo Hospital Lahore.

due to their critical condition where younger sister Urooj succumbed to her injuries after fighting for life for a month, while the left foot of the second Amina was also cut due to infection in critical burns.

The Sambrial Police have registered a case against SDO Sub Division Sambrial Khalid Mehmood, line superintendent Abdul Rasheed Cheema and lineman Ehsan Elahi on charges of negligence in maintenance of the main electrical lines.
