Rawalpindi - A Mehfil-e-Mushaira (poetic symposium) and condolence reference in remembrance of Abdul Sattar Edhi was held here under auspices of Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC).

Renowned social worker and Chairman Green Task Force Dr Jamal Nasir was chief guest of the ceremony who called for continuing the legendary philanthropists mission of serving humanity.

The Mushaira was presided over by Munawar Hashmi while Hassan

Abbas Raza was guest of honor which was also attended by Resident Director Waqar Ahmed. While paying tribute to Edhi, Dr Jamal Nasir emphasized the need to promote his lessons of tolerance, forgiveness and sacrifice. Waqar Ahmed said people like Edhi, who devote their entire lives to social work, come once in every century.

He also eulogized the humanitarian services of the Edhi organisation and said the philanthropist will forever remain a source of national pride. The poets who paid homage to great Abdul Sattar Edhi were
