Every time there are reports about presence and activities of US personnel in Afghanistan and Pakistan, one gets concerned about their real intentions. One cannot help but urge the Pakistan government to be more vigilant about safety of the countrys nuclear assets as well as our key nuclear scientists like Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan who had turned the dream of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto into reality. The recent reports that US officials have unearthed a mineral treasure worth a trillion dollars in Afghanistan underscores the urgency of safeguarding our scientist that are just as precious as the mineral resources that the neighbouring Afghanistan has. -AAMIR A NAJMI, DHA, Lahore.
