LAHORE Customs and NBP reached the final of the NBP Gold Cup Hockey Tournament at Faisalabad Hockey Stadium Faisalabad on Monday. Customs beat Port Qasim in the first semi final, while NBP outplayed WAPDA in the second match. Port Qasims team was suspended from the tournament after misconduct in the semi-final against Customs. According to the Tournament Director Olympian Khalid Bashir, the players of Port Qasim misbehaved with the umpire and three minutes before the end of the match, they pulled out their team from the ground. The players of Port Qasim received one red, one yellow and six green cards in the match. After the suspension of the team, the third position match will not take place. The PHF says it will take serious action on this matter and will talk to the high ups of Port Qasim authority. The final match between Customs and NBP will be played on Tuesday at 5 pm. Commissioner Faisalabad Tahir Hussain will be the chief guest on the closing ceremony.
