President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday vowed to fight back anti-democracy elements and make Pakistan stronger by following the path of political reconciliation and taking along all political forces. We are standing before the enemies like a solid rock. It is not easy to defeat us. We have introduced such a political formula, that even if we lose, we will be the winner, and if we win, so we will be the winner. Zardari asked the party workers to reiterate their commitment to the values their great leader Benazir Bhutto Shaheed who fought for the great ideals and even sacrificed her life. Addressing a public gathering in Naudero late on Monday, he said PPP would continue the policy of reconciliation and take all parties into confidence, adding that the party was not afraid of some 'fake lions. Zardari said the PPP govt had achieved success on different fronts; however, there were several issues that need to be addressed. He said the PPP had not succeeded in winning the hearts of MQM for which it would continue to make attempts. Zardari said Benazir fought courageously against the extremists who are forcing their agenda on the people through brute force. He stressed the need to struggle hard for making Pakistan a pluralistic country where the ballot and not the bullet would determine the ultimate choice of the people. Please continue the fight against extremism, dictatorship, poverty and ignorance. He said the two cherished dreams of Shaheed BB were the democratic pluralism and emancipation of the downtrodden and marginalized sections of society. We will not be deterred by conspiracies or by the hurdles created in our way. Let there be no doubt or mistake about it, he said. President Zardari said the party survived even after the judicial murder of its founder chairman and the countrys first directly elected prime minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the exile and subsequent assassination of its second chairperson Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and the plethora of accusations and witch hunting of its leaders and workers. He said the PPP would continue to defy odds and grow from strength to strength. Let us also remember all our martyrs, our brave soldiers and members of law enforcing agencies who have laid down their lives so that the nation lives in freedom and without fear. He said the martyrs of democracy had suffered incarceration, exile, torture and executions. We salute them all on this day. He expressed his determination to fight back the anti-democracy elements, saying, We will stop their way from all directions. He said the PPP govt was working hard to make a stronger Pakistan, adding that the country under democratic structure was stronger than before. They (the enemies) will have to confront democracy, he remarked. Zardari said Benazir Bhutto Shaheeds political wisdom had ensured that Gen (r) Musharraf was running from country to country. It is the revenge of her assassination, he remarked. He lashed out at his opponents, calling them as the 'political actors who worth nothing. The president said, It would be wrong to say that all is well in Pakistan. All is not certainly not well at the moment but the direction and path we have adopted is the right one. He said, We gave the Pakhtuns the identity that no other government could give in the past 60 years, he said with satisfaction, adding that Pakistans flag was flying at the house of Bhutto and it was a message to the enemies.
