Michel starts working with team

KARACHI Within hours of his arrival here on Monday, Pakistan hockey teams new Dutch coach Michel van den Heuval started training of the hockey team probables here at the Hockey Club of Pakistan. The Dutchman arrived early in the morning to take over his new assignment. Later in the afternoon, he arrived at the HCP to take over his assignment and held his first interaction with 30 trainees who have been invited for Pakistans teams proposed European tour. When the media approached him for his comment immediately after his arrival, he said he had just arrived and would not speak about any aspect his assignment unless he had settled down and met hockey officials and the players. In the meantime, almost all the invited players reported at the training camp. The Pakistan team is due to leave here around July seven on a visit of Europe where they will play six internationals three each against Spain and Holland six. It is, however, expected that the team may try to get more matches on their European sojourn. Michel is the third Dutch who have agreed to train Pakistan after Hans Jorritsma and Oltmans. Under Hans Jorritsma, Pakistan won 1994 World hockey Cup in Sydney.
