Security measures in Islamabad

In the wake of fresh terrorist attacks across the country, capital police have beefed up security to thwart any sabotage bid in federal capital. A new security plan was devised in which additional measures have been taken to meet any eventuality. The decision to this affect was taken in a high level meeting held with Interior Minister Rehman Malik in the chair after the recent suicide bomb blast here in I-8 Markaz on June 13. Additional police along with armed commandos would be deployed at all entry and exits points including the sensitive places. Moreover, surveillance teams have also been set up to keep an eye on suspicious activities of outsiders temporary living in and around the federal capital. Lets hope that the police and the security forces ensure a safe and healthy environment for the citizens of the capital city. KHURRAM SALEEM, Islamabad, June21.
