ISLAMABAD - The allottees who possess plots in Sector D-12 of the Capital could not hide their excitement when on Thursday while visiting the under-construction Margalla Avenue - a nine-kilometre long road that will connect Sector D-12 with Grand Trunk Road near Sangjani - was directed to be completed on time.The two-lane road with 12-foot width on each side would be completed within a year and ease traffic load on Kashmir Highway. When completed the road would provide easy access route for motorists coming from the Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and entering the federal capital. The Chairman CDA while visiting the facility on Thursday said that despite the financial crunch, CDA had initiated this project, adding that the construction work on Margalla Avenue would facilitate the commuters coming from other cities.He said that with the construction of Margalla Avenue, economic and business activities in the capital would also increase. The CDA Chairman said the Authority would complete the project with a cost of Rs1 billion. He said that an overhead bridge would also be constructed on railway lane falling within the radius of the road. He said that all resources would be utilized to complete the construction work on Margalla Avenue.Expressing his satisfaction over the ongoing construction work on Margalla Avenue, the Chairman CDA directed the concerned formations of the Authority to carry on construction work with modern technology. He said that the road would provide an easy access to Sector C-13, C-14, C-15 and C-15 and especially D-12.
