LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Punjab government will host children of Army Public School Peshawar on humanitarian grounds and treatment of injured students will be conducted at government level.
He said that rehabilitation of injured students of Army Public School Peshawar was the responsibility of every Pakistani. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhawa government should also have to fulfill its responsibility in this regard.
The chief minister said that the children of Army Public School were the children of Pakistan and our guests. He directed Health Department that no negligence will be tolerated in the treatment of injured students of Army Public School. He constituted a three-member committee for the rehabilitation arrangements of injured students of APS Peshawar.
The committee comprised Advisor Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik and Commissioner Lahore Divison Abdullah Khan Sunbal. On the instructions of Chief Minister, the special committee will also meet parents of injured students of Army Public School.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government is serving the people selflessly and effective steps are being taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to overcome the challenges being faced by the country.
He was talking to assembly members of PML-N belonging to various districts who met him, on Sunday. He said that transparency, standard and speed are the hallmark of Pakistan Muslim League-N government and it is free from corruption and no one can level any allegation against it in this regard.
The chief minister said that national economy suffered a heavy loss due to sit-ins and politics of protest last year and these activities created hurdles in the process of progress and prosperity of the country. He said that those who wasted the precious time of the nation did not pay attention to the interests of the people or the common man.
He said that with the grace of Allah, PML-N government has again started the journey of development with a new determination and it is moving ahead with a new spirit. He said that the first and biggest 100 megawatt solar power project set up by Punjab government with its own resources at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur has started production of electricity whereas work is being carried out speedily on solar project of 900 megawatt with the cooperation of China and this project will also be completed in a record period.
Referring to the projects of development of Punjab and provision of facilities to the people, Shahbaz Sharif said that culture of merit, transparency and speedy completion of development projects had been promoted in the province and no one could accuse the government of corruption of even a single penny. He said that billions of rupees are being spent on the welfare of the people in Punjab and provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the masses.
He said that provision of potable water to the masses in all tehsils of Punjab will be ensured under Saaf Pani Project till 2017 and Rs70billion will be spent on Saaf Pani Project during next three years.
“The aim of progress and prosperity of Pakistan can be achieved by adopting the golden principle of honesty, hard work and trust. Work will be carried out day and night to fix the problems of people. Under Self-Employment Scheme, 50 thousand vehicles are being distributed among unemployed youth on merit and the quota of districts of south Punjab has been increased,” the CM added.
He said that under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme, construction and repair of all roads of rural areas had been started on which an amount of Rs150billion would be utilised during three years. He said that successful negotiations were held with the companies which had made lowest bids for further reducing the cost and billions of rupees of the nation were saved.
“There is no similar example of saving of national resources in the history of Pakistan which has been set up by the Punjab government. Every penny of funds is the trust of the nation and is being spent only on the people by PML-N government,” he held.
Referring to the measures taken under Ramazan Package for providing relief to the people in Ramazan Bazaars, the chief minister said that government had given historic Ramazan Package of billions of rupees for providing relief to the masses during Ramazan. He said that besides Ramazan Bazaars, provision of quality essential items to the masses on cheaper rate in open market and bazaars was also being ensured and instruction have been issued to Provincial Monitoring Committee and administration in this regard.
He said that besides concerned institutions, the role of elected representatives was also of vital importance for providing relief to the people in the real sense during Ramazan. He said that three districts showing excellent performance with regard to Ramazan Package will be fully encouraged while officers of the districts showing poor performance will be held accountable.
He said that service to the people is also a form of worship and the profiteers will be held accountable in this world and the world hereafter.
