SIALKOT - Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said the government is making all-out sincere efforts to bring betterment in demand and supply system of electricity to ensure minimum loadshedding during Ramazan. Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said the energy crisis would be ended within next two years.

He urged the people not to use air conditioners during the timings of prayers. However, they should use ACs during Traaveeh prayers.

The minister said this direly needed step would help save 4,000 to 5,000 megawatts electricity. He added that the government was unable to provide electricity to the industrial sector from 7pm to 4am during Ramazan.

"This step is being taken to ensure the provision of electricity to the people during Sehar and Iftaar timings," he added. He said demand of electricity was jumped to 21,000 megawatts across the country with the advent of Ramazan. He said now the regular demand of electricity was 18,000 megawatts while the production was 16,000 megawatts.
