BAHAWALPUR-Thousands of beggars have expedited their activities to collect money in Ramazan as disabled children and elderly persons have been deployed in posh areas and women are targeting homes for the purpose.
Different methods of begging in artificial disablement, wounds and contagious diseases are being practiced in the camps of beggars. In Ramazan, Muslims give away Zakat, Sadqa and alms to the deserving poor but professional beggars are being prepared for the super operation to suppress the rights of the deserved.
Thousands of professional children, senior citizen and women have started settling in the major cities as these professional beggars have been attained on contracts.
Posh residential areas, Eidgahs, hospitals and other important profitable locations have been fixed while women are begging at homes while professional beggars have started giving out practice classes to the beggars. Fake blind people, amputees and dumb are being trained with new methods to beg.
They will start their operation from Juma gatherings, arrangements have been made to provide facilities of pick and drop and cash collection to them. The distribution of flour and other food items are made in the month.
Such old men and women as look miserable are deployed in major cities like Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi while rights of the deserving poor and unsupportive persons are being suppressed.
People who are giving away Zakat, alms and Sadqa are having difficult time finding the right deserving persons while Social Welfare and Child Protection Department and Anti-Terrorism Department teams are quiet in this regard. Public communities have demanded operation against professional beggars.
ADMIN FOCUSES ON SALE OF HYGIENIC MEAT: The district administration has made mandatory the blood screening tests of all the butchers and their employees to ensure the supply of hygienic meat to the consumers at 12 Ramazan bazaars in district Bahawalpur.
During his visits to different Ramazan bazaars in district Bahawalpur, DCO Ehtisham Anwer said, “Health officials should launch a stringent campaign of blood testing of all the butchers and their staff by fully operationalising the services of Mobile Health Unit at all the Ramazan bazaars in district.”
The DCO stopped them from carrying on their meat selling business without the blood screening tests. Resultantly, EDO Health Shahid Khaliq has immediately launched the blood screening drive by conducting blood screening tests at bazaars of Meleywali Gali and Railway Road in Bahawalpur city.
The EDO said that the process will complete soon and in this regard, daily performance report is submitted to the office of DCO. He maintained that the blood screening tests of the butchers is a major initiative to protect the consumers from contaminated diseases.
