ISLAMABAD - Today (Friday) is the last day for appeals against rejection or acceptance of nomination papers by the Returning Officers for the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies seats.

Election Commission of Pakistan has established 21 Appellate Tribunals to hear appeals.

According to the Commission, six Tibunals have been established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eight in Punjab, four in Sindh, two in Balochistan and one in Islamabad.

Appellate Tribunals will decide the appeals by 27th of this month, after which the revised list of candidates will be published on the next day. 

In Punjab, the process of filing appeals by the candidates for the next month's general election against the acceptance and rejection of nomination papers is in process and it will be concluded on Friday (today). Eight Appellate Tribunals have been set up in various cities to hear the appeals.

According to ECP Schedule, the tribunals will decide the appeals by 27th, after which the Revised List of candidates will be published on 28th.

Candidates can withdraw their papers by 29th, after which final list will be published the same day.

Election symbols will be allotted to the contesting candidates on 30th of this month, while the polling for both National Assembly and Provincial Assembly elections will be held on 25th of next month.

Provincial Election Commission Sindh issued on Thursday list of candidates whose forms have been accepted on reserved National Assembly and Provincial Assembly seats for women in the province.
