RAWALPINDI - Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday claimed that peace was restored in Karachi due to his tireless efforts.

Addressing a public rally in Rawat, Ch. Nisar said that he had launched operation in Karachi and due to his tireless efforts peace was restored in the city. A large number of local leaders of N League and other supporters of Nisar attended the public gathering.

Nisar said that he along with Pakistan Army fought against terrorists and broke their backbone to restore peace in the country.

The former interior minister also claimed that he had ‘knocked out’ former Indian interior minister Raj Nath during a conference when he (Raj) ran away from the venue.

He said that he always advised ex-premier Mian Nawaz Sharif to keep himself away from flatterers. “I believe in speaking truth and used to speak truth even before General (Retd) Zia Ul Haq, Muhammad Khan Junejo, Ghulam Ishaq and Mian Nawaz Sharif,” he said.

Coming hard on Asif Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan, he said none of them had ever visited the areas. He claimed of executing a number of development projects in the area.

He said the mammoth gathering of people of Rawat proved that he would win the election on July 25.

 “There will be more upsets in the upcoming general elections,” he predicted. He claimed that he would defeat both electable and non-electable with power of people in election.
