The High Commision of Pakistan in New Delhi, India, has issued visas to over 300 Sikh pilgrims from India for Maharaja Ranjit Singh 's death anniversary.

Pakistan Railways will run a special train in this regard which will carry pilgrims from Attari [India] to Pakistan on June 21.

A large number of Sikh pilgrims from India visit Pakistan each year to observe their religious festivals.

The issuance of pilgrimage visas was in line with the Pakistani government's efforts to promote visits to religious shrines. Earlier in April, 2,000 Sikh pilgrims were issued visas, to travel to Pakistan for the Baisakhi Festival.
