RAWALPINDI - Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench on Monday issued a contempt of court notice to additional director general of Military Lands and Cantonments and chief executive officer of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board for not allowing the public elected representatives for sitting in their officers despite a court order. LHC Rawalpindi Bench Justice Abid Chatta has issued notices to Muhammad Ali and Wasim Shahid in response to a writ petition filed by Chaudhry Iftikhar and Pervaiz Sahotra through their lawyer Ajmal Raza Bhatti Advocate.
The petitioners argued before court that LHC Rawalpindi Bench Justice Shahid Jamil Khan had ordered restoration of public elected bodies of cantonment boards on December 23, 2020 on a writ petition filed by Irfan Imtiaz, Rashid Khan, Chaudhry Iftikhar and Pervaiz Sahotra. Despite the fact, the petitioners said the higher authorities are not allowing the public elected representatives of the cantonment board to sit in their offices to resolve the issues of public.
