LAHORE – The Lahore High Court on Wednesday ordered the arrest of an SHO who kept on smiling during the entire length of the hearing of a case involving the torture of a woman. Justice Kazim Raza Shamsi ordered the CCPO and DIG Operations to appear before the court and also produce SHO Attique Dogar handcuffed on March 27.

Mehwish, wife of Ali Raza, told the court that SHO Dogar wanted to occupy her house and for this, he had registered fake cases against his husband and brother. He along with his subordinates had on March entered her house and brutally tortured her and her old mother. During torture, he not only abused her but also attempted to rape her, Mehwish further told the court.

The court noted that the SHO was repeatedly smiling during the hearing. The court took serious notice and sought explanation from him over his smiling. “My lord, actually, I have a smiling face,” the SHO replied. At this, the court ordered his arrest.
