SWABI - During a crackdown against anti-social elements, police arrested 161 proclaimed offenders (POs) and seized weapons from their possession, police said on Wednesday.
According to details district police launched a campaign against criminals in Razar and Chota Lahore areas under the headship of District Police Officer (DPO) Swabi, Abdur Rashid Khan. During the operation, police netted 161 POs besides seizing 27 Kalashnikovs, 165 Kalakovs, 136 rifles, 290 pistols, three hand grenade and 21924 cartridges besides seizing 20 Kg hashish, six Kg opium and 27 bottles of liquor from their hideouts.
Police has registered cases and started investigations.
Kohat police kicks off plantation drive
Kohat police has launched a week long spring tree plantation campaign where 20,000 saplings would be planted in the district.
DIG Syed Imtiaz Shah while inaugurating the campaign directed all regional police offices to plant one sapling in each regional office under the green Kohat programme.
Earlier, presiding over a meeting the DIG said that a weeklong tree plantation campaign has been planned to make the environment clean and the district green.
He said that police teams in collaboration with concerned departments would plant different types of saplings across the district.
