KARACHI - The students of Lahore Grammar School (LGS) Karachi branch presented fabulous performances at a one-day drama festival here Wednesday.

The students who participated from different grades highlighted varied social issues of national importance through dramatic instruments.

The students also presented Shakespeare’s popular play “The Tempest”; the play portrayed the role of Alonso, (the King of Naples), Sebastian, (Alonso’s brother), Ferdinand (Alonso’s son), Antonio, Gonzalo and others.

The other plays, showcased in the festival, included famous dramas of Pakistan’s history. The audiences acknowledged the excellent work done by the drama groups who staged plays depicting current social problems with rich entertainment.

LGS Principal Marina Ali advised the students to maintain their moral values and cultural ethos while enacting dramas, and praised the entire team of teachers and staff who made the event successful. She highlighted plans of different activities to promote the students’ hidden talent.

Program Coordinator Saima Bukhari appreciated the artistic skills, oratory and confidence of the young student artistes. She said the young generation had a tremendous potential to excel in all fields of activity. She underlined the dynamic spirit behind the cultural programme. Saima said that the enlightened moderation and progressive spirit was the hallmark of the event.

Teachers praised the quality of presentation and selection of themes of the plays presented by the students in the festival. The audience highly appreciated the wit, intellect and sense of humour demonstrated by the students in plays.
