LAHORE - Pakistan Running Club (USA) is organising Pakistan Day Race Challenge here on March 25 to promote athletics in the country and to engage youth in healthy activities.

Talking to the reporters at a news conference on Wednesday, PRC (USA) vice president Shahzad Chohan said: "We will be organising two events - five kilometers challenge race and one kilometre family fun run - to mark the celebrations of Pakistan Day and to contribute in the development of athletics.”

PRB chairman Dr Meesaq Rizvi and president Agha Husnain and Model Town Football Academy president Mian Rizwan Ali were also present on the occasion.

He said the both the events will start from MFTA and athletes will finish at the same point after going through some points of model town.

"We are expecting the participation of nearly 2000 runners in the main event and a number of families in fun run and we will be giving handsome cash prizes to top position holders," he asserted.

The winner of 5km race will get Rs 30,000, second Rs 20,000 and third Rs 10,000 while the winner of the family fun run will pocket Rs 15,000, runners-up Rs 10,000 and third Rs 5,000.
