Students perform on ‘beauty is beast’ at RAC

RAWALPINDI - In connection with the International Theatre Day, a Drama Night was held at Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Wednesday.
On the occasion, PML-N MNA Tahira Aurangzeb was the chief guest whereas RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed, former RD Naheed Manzoor and principals of different schools were also present. During the event, the esculents put up a tremendous show. While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that Headway Escuela was always making sure that all its children participated and has become more confident and creative members of the society. She applauded the efforts of the staff and the children in this regard.
Earlier, the show opened with “Golden Goose” a collection of traditional tales called ‘folk tales’. The students also performed brilliantly on “Beauty is Beast” a slightly different and more humorous version of the fairy tale. The wonderful costumes added to the ambiance of the performances. A medley song performed by 1st and 2nd grade rocked the stage with the little ones giving ecstatic and energetic performances.
A scene from Julius Caesar, a classical tragedy by William Shakespeare, was presented with modern blend. The play is about a whole range of human emotions, ranging from love, friendship, and husband and wife relationship to the extremes of jealousy, hatred and finally murder. It amused the audience.
The play “Chacha Chakkan Banaras Chalay” based on the popular comic character in Urdu Literature, combined laughter, comedy and wonderful performances enacted by children of different class.
