KARACHI - Unidentified culprits carried out attack on one of the vehicles carrying thousands copies of a local Urdu daily for distribution early in the morning.

Truck driver Sardar told the media that unidentified men on motorcycles intercepted the newspapers-laden vehicle on MT Khan Road and took it to Hijrat Colony.

The driver said that the abductors took away the newspapers bundles which were later found burnt in another truck near passport office.

It is to be noted that on Tuesday armed riders smashed windowpanes of a private TV channel and satellite van and resorted to firing outside the office on II Chundrigar Road.

Federal information Minister Firdus Ashiq Awan, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, MQM chief Altaf Hussain, ANP chief Asfandyar Wali and other political leaders and journalist bodies condemned these attacks.

Earlier, renowned journalist Hamid Mir said that these attacks were carried out by the Awami National Party (ANP) workers. He said that teh party chief had tendered apology for the attack.
