Although we achieved freedom from the British, we could not benefit from its fruits: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore- Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said ‘Pakistan day’ is a very important event for the country with regard to Pakistan's Independence Movement , the Muslims of the Sub-Continent decided their destiny under the flag of Muslim League.
The resolution adopted in the historic public meeting at Minto Park, Lahore was the practical shape of the ideas of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the poet of the East.
In his message on Pakistan Day, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said “Although we achieved freedom from the British, we could not benefit from its fruits.”
He said that the journey of construction of Pakistan started from the creation of Pakistan. He emphasized that the nation should utilize all energies for a prosperous Pakistan, a land for which many people sacrificed their lives. The Chief Minister said Pakistan is facing problems like terrorism, extremism, energy crisis, corruption and ruination of national institutions. He said the present government is making serious and sincere efforts for resolving these problems. The Chief Minister said the fruits of freedom cannot be fully achieved without removing the difference between the poor and the rich in the country. He said the time of hollow slogans and lip service has passed. PML-N government believes in practical steps and is marching towards development and prosperity of the country, he concluded.
