PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Shaukat Yousafzai has said that "Sehat Ka Insaf" campaign has been appreciated by numerous national and international personalities, which illustrates Tehrik-i-Insaf-led provincial government's struggle in health sector.

This he said while addressing a high level meeting of Health Department officials here in Peshawar on Friday. Shaukat Yousafzai announced that the 8th round of "Sehat Ka Insaf" would be started in Peshawar today (March 22, 2014) in which water purification tablets would be distributed among more than 30,000 houses of 96 union councils while awareness pamphlets regarding dengue and protection of children from nine diseases would also be included.

The minister said that Sehat Ka Insaf would also be launched in Charsadda, Mardan and Swabi districts from April 6 and for the first time in the history of Pakistan, he said that 1.7 million children would be given anti-polio drops and vaccination in one day.

Talking to The Nation, Focal Person Sehat Ka Insaf programme Younis Zaheer said that the KP Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would launch 8th phase of the Sehat Ka Insaf Programme in the most sensitive union councils of Mattni and Badhabera area today (Saturday).

 He said that in this 8th phase all sensitive union councils of Peshawar have been included while total 95 union councils will be covered.

He informed that total 12,000 health workers would immunize 0.7 million children of Peshawar. Besides this heavy contingent of 6,000 police personnel would be deployed across the city in order foil any untoward incident during the campaign.

Meanwhile, to maintain peace and harmony during "Sehat Ka Insaf" campaign today (Saturday), the deputy commissioner Peshawar has under section 144 Cr.PC imposed ban on plying motorcycles for one complete day on March 22, 2014. Anyone found violating this order would be proceeded against under section 188 PPC. This order shall come into force forthwith and shall remain enforced for one day on 22nd March, 2014.
