Sham-e-Ghazal mesmerises participants

The Adabi Forum and Rohi, a cultural and literature organisation, organized a poetry programme “Sham-e-Ghazal” here the other day.
Known local poetess Yasmeen Zahid was the chief guest at the literary programme which was presided over by senior poet Azhar Adeeb.
Prof Arif Ayub performed as stage secretary and introduced the participating poets.
Prof Imran Bashir read a section of the poetry book “Mujhay Izhar Karna hai” written by Yasmeen Zahid and highlighted the underlying message of the book. He termed her poetry true feelings of a woman in society.
Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized that Yasmeen’s poetry was based on realities of the life.
Dr Abdul Majid, Mian Waheed Uddin, Saba Waheed and Jabbar Wasif also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Jam Ziaur Rehman recited poetry of famous Sufi poet Khawaja Ghulam Fareed. Local singers Salamat Ali and Faisal Rafique also sang songs.
