Nation to celebrate 76th ‘Pakistan Day’ tomorrow

Islamabad: The nation to celebrate Pakistan Day on Wednesday with the pledge to work hard for the progress, prosperity and stability of the country.
Marking the passage of Lahore Resolution that led to the creation of Pakistan, the Day will dawn with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute in provincial capitals.
Special prayers will be held in mosques after Fajr prayers for the progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country. National flag will be hoisted on major government buildings.
The main feature of the day will be the military parade at the parade avenue in Islamabad where armed forces will conduct march-past and the fighter jets will present aerobatic maneuvers.
President Mamnoon Hussain will be the chief guest while Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the services chiefs will also witness the parade.
Various political, social, religious, educational and other organizations have arranged functions to highlight the importance of the Pakistan Resolution that paved the way for the creation of an independent homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent.
Special security arrangements have been put in place in the twin cities to avert any untoward incident.
Local national channels will broadcast special programs on the occasion.
Special programs, seminars, rallies and other functions in wake of national day would be held across the country.
