KARACHI - Paying tribute to women for their splendid role in all fields of life, President Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) women wing and MNA Faryal Talpur said yesterday that Pakistani women, despite all discrimination and unpleasant circumstances, were playing a dynamic role for the progress and development of the country especially in presenting a soft image of motherland before the international community amid growing impacts of terrorism in the country.

She was talking to PPP women wing President of Sindh chapter Shagufta Jumani and general secretary Dr Shahida Rehmani over telephone.

Talpur told PPP women wing office-bearers that the workers of the PPP were a precious asset to the party and they would always be the same.

“The women wing of the party has to launch a campaign to mobilise the women and the parliamentarians should start coordination with the women in their electoral constituencies,” she said.

The PPP women wing President Faryal Talpur said the role of women for the defence and sanctity of the Constitution of Pakistan was vital. Their protests, she continued, reversed the untoward and anti-constitutional measures.

“They are once again on streets over escape of former military dictator Pervez Musharraf in darkness of night in connivance with the PML-N’s government in centre ignoring the fact that he is under trial under Article 6 for violating the Constitution and assassination charges of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.”

“The escape of Musharraf with the consent and assistance of the PML-N’s government in centre is a big question mark on the Constitution of Pakistan and the women have no other option except taking to streets.”
