The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, rejected an apology filed by Director General LDA (Lahore Development Authority), Zahid Akhtar Zaman for constructing an illegal road on former finance minister Ishaq Dar's directives.

Three member bench headed by CJP heard the suo motu case of illegally constructing the road towards Ishaq Dar’s residence in Lahore that also damaged a park.

DG LDA stated that it was done on the directions of Ishaq Dar because he needed some parking space near his house.

Then CJP asked DG, “What kind of an officer are you?”.

Moreover, CJP Saqib Nisar said that now DG LDA will have to face the consequences for constructing an illegal road for a minister.

Zahid Akhtar Zaman offered an unconditional apology to court but CJP said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will conduct an inquiry against him.

CJP also remarked that now the time for apologies is over and he directed Zahid Zaman to bring all documents relating to the park, it’s complete ground area and other documents to court.

Court said that DG has violated the section 9 NAB rules.

“Everyone creates a scene when they’re sent to NAB, it’s your turn. Create the scene.” CJP Saqib Nisar said.

Before that, NAB has arrested four more suspects in Aashiana housing Scheme scandal.
