Bail of ex-MNAs nephew cancelled

RAWALPINDI - Additional District and Sessions Judge Thursday cancelled post-arrest bail of Bilal Javed who is the nephew of former MNA of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Haji Pervaiz Khan and had appeared in the examination of intermediate for his uncle. According to the details, police arrested Bilal Javed son of Javed Khan, a resident of Kohati Bazaar, from the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Rana Muhammad Ali who cancelled the bail of the accused after police added section 419 (punishment for cheating by impersonation) of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the orders of Chief Justice Lahore High Court after he took suo moto notice of the cheating incident. The accused Bilal caught by examination inspector Dr Naeem Bajwa on April 29. when he was taking the paper of Pakistan Studies on behalf of the MNA at Government Gordon College for Boys. He was booked for fraud by the police. Next day the area magistrate took his bail on surety bonds worth Rs 30,000. The cheating scam resulted in the resignation of MNA Haji Pervaiz Khan who was elected from NA 55 through bye-elections in June last year after Makhdoom Javed Hasmi vacated the seat. Separately the Additional District and Sessions Judge handed down life imprisonment to two men in a narcotics case and directed them to pay Rs 1,000,000 as fine each and in case of default they had to undergo one year extra imprisonment. The convicts Rafaqat Ahmed and Ilyas Khan were arrested by Banni Police in 2003 when they were carrying 18 kg charas.
