LAHORE - An official of a private pharmaceutical company was allegedly shot dead by three armed men in Sattokatla police limits on Thursday. The deceased identified as Gulzarul Haq was resident of Wapda Town. The police said the victim was about to leave for his office when three armed men intercepted him outside his residence and opened firing. Gulzar sustained critical bullet injuries. The assailants fled from the scene leaving Gulzar in pool of blood. His family members rushed to spot and shifted him to the Jinnah Hospital but he died on the way. He was working for a local private medicine company. According to the police investigators, the deceased might be murdered over business rivalry. However, further investigations are underway. To a question, the police officials ruled out any possibility that Gulzar was murdered by the robbers on putting resistance. The deceaseds brother Imtiazul Hassan told the police that his brother and his family had no enmity with anybody. The police have shifted body of the deceased to the city morgue for autopsy and registered a case against three unknown assailants with no arrest so far.
