KARACHI - A boy, who left home for two hours to take a computer class, was found dead on Thursday from Malir River after the period of two weeks. The eighteen-year-old victim Mohammad Sohaib Adil, son of Mohammad Naseem, was the resident of House no 56, Block 3, Dehli Cooperative Housing Society, in the limits of Ferozabad police station. He was abducted in the wee hours of May 7 near Hill Park. His car was later recovered. Soon after his abduction, the kidnappers phoned his family and demanded five million rupees as ransom for his release. His father Naseem who is a businessman by profession immediately informed the police station concerned and registered the case against unknown culprits. Later, the Ferozabad police transferred the case to Anti Violent Crime Unit (AVCU) and Citizens Police Liaisons Committee (CPLC) to probe the case but despite of handing over the case to Anti Violent Crime Unit and Citizens Police Liaisons Committee, the family themselves made deal with the kidnappers. After negotiations, they paid Rs4,60,000 to kidnappers. The Anti Violent Crime Unit officials had arrested three persons including Rashid Baloch, Ammar and Mansoor in separate raids on Wednesday. AVCU SP Khurram Waris said the culprit Baloch was said to be the resident of Angara Goth. The official claimed that during the initial course of interrogation, the culprits revealed that they shot dead the deceased on the second or third day of the kidnapping when Adil recognised Munnu. They then tied his hands and legs with the rope and threw his body in the river.
