ISLAMABAD - The Board of Administrators of Export Development Fund on Friday had approved 15 projects amounting of Rs 1,174m relating to promotion of exports in various sectors. The 56th meeting of the Board of Administrators of EDF held in the Ministry of Commerce under the chairmanship of Makhdoom Amin Fahim. The 15 projects included establishment of training institutes at Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad and Quetta. The projects also include, the up gradation of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industrys, Headquarters at Islamabad costing Rs 240.5m, up gradation of Leather Products Development Institute Sialkot at a cost of Rs 33.8m, Rs 10.8m grant of funds to Footwear Training Institute Charsaddah, establishment of Southern Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries building at Multan and establishment of Business and Trade Centre at Sialkot at a cost of Rs 30m. Senator Ilyas Bilour, Secretary Commerce, Zafar Mahmood, Chief Executive, TDAP, officers of the Ministry, representatives of Ministry of Textile Industry and SBP, President, FPCCI and chairmen of prominent chambers and trade associations also attended the meeting.
