LAHORE - The Lahore High Court Friday deferred till June 9 hearing of a petition against foreign assets of PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif and 42 other politicians and prominent figures of Pakistan. The petitioner sought courts orders for repatriating foreign assets of the politicians and others, which amounts over 50,000 US dollars that had been sent to foreign countries. A deputy attorney general sought more time submitting that instructions had not been received from the government on the petition. Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry accepting the request adjourned the hearing till June 9. The respondents in the petition of Iftikhar Hussain Rajpoot included Pervez Musharraf, Farooq Legari, Mian M Sharif, Ahsan Iqbal, Sharifuddin Pirzada, Malik Qayuum, Wasim Sajjad, Senator Sardar Latif Khosa, Abdul Hameed Dogar, Pervaiz Elahi, Monis Elahi, Saif-ur-Rahman, Shaukat Aziz and others. The petitioner said the respondents sent their assets to foreign countries unlawfully and caused a loss to the nation. He has prayed the court to order respondents to repatriate their foreign assets worth over 50,000 US dollars and also publicly declare as to which other countries citizenship they held. The petitioner also requested the court to order police to register FIR against Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz for looting public wealth.
