RAWALPINDI - Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik Friday submitted an application here in Accountability Court (AC) seeking permission to submit bail bonds in two NAB references. Rehman Maliks counsel, Advocate Muhammad Amjad Iqbal Qureshi, submitted the application in connection with his bail plea, in two National Accountability Bureau references against him before the AC judge Chaudhary Abdul Haq. After hearing the petitioners counsel, the AC judge issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and adjourned the hearing till today. It is pertinent to mention here that one of the aforementioned references, against Rehman Malik, was for alleged misuse of authority as the FIA DG, during Benazir Bhuttos last tenure, and securing a quota of Bitumen from the Pakistan National Refinery at a concessional rate, ultimately causing a loss to the national exchequer. Similarly, the other reference was filed against him for allegedly receiving two cars from Toyota Motors, as illegal gratification to expedite the purchase of official vehicles.
