NAIROBI (AFP) Three family members of Kenyan soccer star McDonald Mariga, including his mother, will be at Madrids Bernabeu stadium for Saturdays UEFA Champions League final between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. The 23-year midfielder, who joined Inter from Serie A rivals Parma earlier this year, will become the first Kenyan footballer to appear in a European Cup final. He came on as a substitute when a 10-man Inter beat Barcelona 1-0 in the semi-final return leg clash in April, which was also attended by his mother Mildred, a Nairobi tailor. Marigas father Noah Wanyama, a former Kenyan international, will himself not be travelling to Madrid but will watch the match on television. But he said there will be a big family representation for the historic occasion. It is a big honour for the family to be in Madrid. My wife will be accompanied by our two other sons, Victor Mugabe, who is based in Belgium and our last born Harry, who has been given special permission from school to travel to Spain, said Wanyama. We are very proud of our sons achievements in Italy, he added.
