KARACHI (APP)- The management of NIB Bank Ltd has asked its 350 regular employees to either volunteer resignations or face termination from job without reason. Some of these employees informed APP here their top management has prepared a list of 350 regular employees who will be terminated from jobs if they refused to submit their resignation on volunteer basis. Syed Salman Hassan, working in Judia Bazar branch, said the branch operation head NIB Bank Ajit Kumar told him Friday that HR department of NIB Bank has terminated his services, but he (Kumar) can ask management to withdraw termination letter if he (Salman) can tender resignation. In that case, the bank will pay me a three-month salary, he added. Salman said that he was not served with any charge sheet from the bank. However, my boss told me that I am a trouble shooter and hinders the pace of work. This is totally wrong and, on the contrary, I am a swift worker and quickly executes job, he added. Ehtesham Ullah, working in Garden East branch alleged that he was shown his termination letter by Ajit Kumar. He also offered me to get me a suitable job in other bank if I submit resignation. Another bank employees who preferred said that NIB Bank management was hiring other people at very high salaries and retrenching those existing employees who are drawing low salaries. I am holding B. Com. degree and getting Rs 18,000 per month from the bank. He said that under the scheme of amalgamation of PICIC/PCBL with and into NIB Bank Ltd notified by the State Bank of Pakistan on December 31, 2007, the terms and condition of PICIC/PCBL employees should not be less favourable than that of PICIC/PCBL. NIB Bank management told APP said the reason of these terminations is the poor performance of these employees.
