Nisar censures govt, judiciary

ISLAMABAD - Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, Ch Nisar Ali Khan, has strongly castigated those responsible for the inhuman incident, which occurred outside Quetta, statement issued by his office on Saturday said. Calling it a criminal act and a serious violation of all norms of decencies and humanity, the Leader of the Opposition has expressed surprise that no concrete steps have been taken either by the federal government or higher judiciary since the incident took place to bring the perpetrators to justice. Ch Nisar said that he felt ashamed to call himself citizen of a country in which such criminal acts take place in board day light, in the full glare of media publicity and nobody from the government or judiciary raised a finger to check this gross murder of humanity. The countries and societies who have no time for justice are wiped off from the face of the earth. It is not enough that we had turned this country into a heaven of violence, midnight abductions, drone attacks and suicide explosions that we have now added the chapter of public executions to our system and style of governance. One never had any trust in Zardari led government to take action in this regard but one at least expected the independent judiciary to exercise its powers so that the criminals are brought to justice, he said. If this incident doesnt qualify to be taken up through suo moto action, I suggest the whole concept of taking suo moto actions should be revised. If such incidents take place in democratic and civilised societies it would create a reaction and uproar, which is often difficult to control, he added. It is unfortunate what Zardari and Musharrafs style of governance has done to this country over the last 12 years that we hardly hear a whimper of protest in the entire country. This criminal act must not go unpunished and PML (N) will continue to raise the issue consistently in all forms, he concluded.
