LAHORE Though prolonged spells of loadshedding continued in the Punjab capital, yet the citizens felt some respite from scorching heat in the evening due to change in weather. There was average 8 to 10 hours loadshedding in urban areas and the rural areas faced above 12 hours power outages. The Pakistan Electric Power Company stated 4,798 MW shortfall at National Grid. The generation from all sources remained 13,286 MW and demand of electricity was being stated 18,081 MW. The thermal units and IPPs shared a bit high from their earlier generation, which, the Company said, produced 1854MW and 6,276MW respectively. About 100MW more added by rental units and their generation went up at 172MW whilst hydropower generation stood at 4,994MW.
